Message: “The Scandal of Particularity” from The Reverend Josh Wilson

Through a Scandal of Particularity God calls Abraham into relationship with himself and to participate in the divine mission to heal the sickness of sin and bless all the peoples of the earth. Through a Scandal of Particularity, from the generations of Abraham God sends forth his Son to make atonement for the sins of the world. Through a Scandal of Particularity God invites all of us, in the Spirit, through the Son, to participate in the divine mission to heal the sickness of sin and bless all the peoples of the earth in our everyday lives. The fullness of the Gospel is revealed in Jesus Christ, the Mystery of Salvation. But, the Gospel begins in Genesis, when God invites a human to participate in his plan. When God offers a human the dignity of carrying the divine blessing to all the peoples of the earth. The Gospel continues in each of us, who through Christ, have been offered the dignity of carrying the divine plan of blessing into our own communities, families, and work spaces.
