Love that Gives Itself Away
The way of the Christian life does not look like triumphalism. There is joy, deep joy, bust mostly, to our human eyes, it doesn't look like victory. Because the Christian life is following Jesus where he goes, the way of the Christian life takes us squarely into suffering. There is nothing wrong with you, and there is nothing wrong with your faith, if you are suffering. Because the way of God is to meet you there in your suffering. When you have nothing, he has everything. And that is exactly where grace and mercy flow.
