Wednesdays during Lent

  • 7:00 a.m. Holy Eucharist | St. Andrew's Chapel
    • A 30 minute spoken
  • 5:00 p.m. Evening Prayer | St. Andrew's Chapel
    • "Good Lord, deliver us." During this solemn season of Lent, come pray the ancient words of the Great Litany. We offer this extended time of intercession and supplication trusting that sovereign grace of God holds us fast "especially in times of war, or of national anxiety, or of disaster” (BCP 154).

    • Lenten Soup Suppers | Parish Hall
      • During Lent, we gather on Wednesday evenings to enjoy a potluck soup supper and teaching. This year, a team of lay leaders will facilitate reflections of Jesus' journey to the Cross, the Via Delaros, using scripture, artwork, and prayer. Everyone is welcome to purchase "Praying the Stations of the Cross" by Margaret Parker and Katherine Sonderegger, which is the study guide for our session. Join us as we walk together with Jesus.

    • Youth Confirmation Preparation | Wednesdays starting February 25, Parish Hall 2nd floor
      • Youth grades 9 - 12 who have been confirmed and would like to be with the Bishop visits at Pentecost (May 24) may prepare for Confirmation by rehearsing the articles of Faith. Join us on Wednesday for Evening Prayer and soup supper, followed by Conifrmation instruction. Contact Josh Wilson at josh.wilson@stpaulsmurfreesboro.org with questions.

Fridays during Lent

  • 6:00 p.m. Stations of the Cross in the Nave
    • On Fridays during Lent walk through the Nave and pray ancient prayers of devotion, contemplating the divine sacrifice of the cross.

Sundays during Lent

  • Adult Confirmation Class | begins Sunday, February 22 | 9:45 a.m. | Christian Education Rooms 2-3, Parish Hall, 1st floor
    • This course explores the question, “What does it mean to belong to the Episcopal Church and to St. Paul’s?” It is designed for people who wish to commit themselves to this parish as their faith community, who want to know more about it, or who are already confirmed but want to strengthen their understanding. The class will meet Sundays from 9:45-10:45 through April 26 except for Palm Sunday and Easter. If you wish to participate, or if you just have questions, contact David Rowe at drowe@bellsouth.net or 615-631-1088. Couples please include contact information for both partners.

Holy Week Ecumenical Services | 12:00 p.m.

Ecumenical Services will be held each day of Holy Week at a different downtown churches. The churches will not host lunches this year.
