We do not know when the final judgment will come – no one knows the day or the hour, not even Jesus. Only the Father in heaven knows the day he has assigned. But the day will come, and we will stand before the judgment seat. We will be judged by Jesus, the one who has already borne our sin. He will gaze upon us with clarity; he will gaze upon us with love. He will gaze with scorn upon the sin and death that have held us captive and will cast them away.
