Looking for a sign
You may have come here today asking for a sign. Or maybe you’ve never asked for a sign. But here he is: God with us, Emmanuel. And whether or not we have tasted of the water in the desert and sought out the well, here it is – the delight of the Lord pouring out upon us in rivers of joy. The Lord spoke to Ahaz, saying, “Ask a sign of the Lord your God; let it be deep as Sheol or high as heaven.” But Ahaz said, “I will not ask, and I will not put the Lord to the test.” Isaiah 7: 10-12
