Overdoing it

Sometimes, we approach Lent in the same way that we would approach Crossfit. Take 40 days to whip your soul into shape! But Lent always begins with the story of Jesus being tested in the wilderness, and Jesus is the only one who passes every test thrown at him. His righteousness is what counts, not our striving. Our goal is to know and love Jesus, to draw near to the heart of God. In a word, to pray
