On the Mount of Transfiguration
God speaks from the cloud. “Listen to him.” Listen to him. This, finally is what the story is all about. This is why we have Jesus’ radiant face and clothing, the cloud, the Old Testament faces, and the voice from heaven. This is why they happened at all. Jesus is God incarnate, and his word is the reliable revelation of God. His word is the reliable word of life. Listen to him.
