Movie Matinee: Same Kind of Different As Me
Before Kathy Izard there was Denver Moore.
Same Kind of Different as Me is the faith-centric, true story of successful businessman, Ron Hall, and his wife who develop an unlikely, and inspiring, friendship with a homeless man, Denver Moore. The movie chronicles how the love of God is at work, changing lives. After the story in the movie ends, Denver entered Kathy Izard’s life. Kathy was a graphic designer, wife, mother of four daughters, and volunteer at Charlotte’s Urban Ministry Center when they met. Inspired by Denver’s challenge to do more than serve in a soup kitchen, Kathy quit her job to take on what seemed like an unimaginable task in her second half of life—to build housing for Charlotte’s homeless.
In preparation for Kathy’s visit to St. Paul’s come view the movie in the Parish hall on Sunday afternoon, January 26, at 3:00 pm. Popcorn, snacks, and soft drinks will be provided.
Rated PG-13. Childcare will be provided.
